Sawyers Cluster Residents -
Please be aware, Republic Services has discontinued residential service to our area for the time being. Please do not place trash out for removal at this time until residential serivce is resumed in our neighborhood.
Per communication today:
Republic Services will not be servicing RESIDENTIAL routes tomorrow, Wednesday January 27th. Secondary roads and neighborhood streets continue to be an issue for our large trucks. Our trucks cannot maneuver neighborhoods with minimal amounts of plowing. Our goal is to resume service as soon as possible and we are continually working with counties and VDOT on plowing updates. We are also running scout routes in an effort to resume service as soon as we can. Please keep in mind that once service resumes, not all streets will be accessible and equipment must be placed on a cleared surface.
Republic Services will be serving some INDUSTRIAL AND COMMERCIAL customers tomorrow. We will be prioritizing this service (i.e. hospitals, nursing homes, high-rise communities) based on need and whether the equipment is accessible by our trucks.
